The short version

dote.pet is a free educational website about pet allergies and sensitivities, built in India. Read the articles. Take the quiz. Send your story if you want. None of this replaces a vet — and we say that on every page that needs it.

What this site is

dote.pet (the "site") is operated by dote, based in Chennai, India. It exists to share honest, jargon-free information about pet allergies and sensitivities — food and environmental — for pet parents in India.

What this site is not

The site is education, not diagnosis or treatment. Nothing on dote.pet is veterinary advice. We do not have a vet–client relationship with you or your pet. If your pet's symptoms persist or worsen, or if you're worried about anything you've read, please see your vet.

The Allergy Checker quiz is a directional tool — it points at likely triggers based on the answers you provide. It is not a diagnostic test. It does not replace a vet examination.

Your use of the site

You may use dote.pet for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

  • Use the site in a way that violates Indian law or any other applicable law.
  • Attempt to break, scrape, overload, or interfere with the site.
  • Use any part of the site to harm yourself, your pet, or anyone else.
  • Reproduce, republish, or commercially exploit the site's content without our written consent.
  • Submit false, misleading, or malicious content through the contact, story, or quiz forms.

What you submit to us

If you send us a question, story, photo, or message, you confirm that:

  • The content is yours to share.
  • It does not infringe anyone else's rights.
  • You're at least 18 years old.

By sending us a story or photo, you give us permission to consider it for publication and (if we publish it) to display it on dote.pet and our social channels with credit. We will confirm with you before we publish anything you've sent.

You can ask us to take down any content you submitted at any time by emailing privacy@dote.pet.

Our content

Articles, photos, illustrations, the quiz logic, the wordmark, and the layout of this site are owned by dote unless otherwise credited. You're welcome to share links to articles. You're not welcome to copy whole articles to your own site.

Third-party links

We sometimes link to other websites for context or sources. We don't control those websites and we're not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

Disclaimers

The site is provided "as is." We work hard to be accurate but pet health is variable, individual, and changes with new evidence. We don't warrant that:

  • The information on the site is complete, current, or applicable to your specific pet.
  • The site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
  • Any specific outcome will follow from acting on what you read here.

If your pet has a medical issue, please see your vet.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Indian law, dote and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the site or your reliance on its content. This includes (but is not limited to) any harm to your pet, your property, or your finances.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.

Changes to the site and to these terms

We may update the site, change articles, or revise these terms at any time. When we change these terms, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be highlighted on the page.

Children

dote.pet is intended for adult pet parents (18+). If you are under 18, please don't submit personal data through the site.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute relating to these terms or to your use of the site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
